Música, ciudadanía y afrodescendientes en dos contextos nacionales

Resumen

El objetivo de este trabajo es explicar cómo la generación y difusión de música con raíces africanas en los últimos 30 años han contribuido a las acciones de los afrodescendientes de Cuba y México por el reclamo de sus derechos ciudadanos. La indagación que ofrecemos en el epígrafe 2 de este ensayo contiene un examen comparado del tema. Nuestro análisis de la ciudadanía de los afrodescendientes hace un corte del tema desde el ángulo de los estudios del racismo y la etnomusicología por la relación música y sociedad (desarrollada en los epígrafes 3 y 4).

Al hablar de la música en Cuba nos referimos al hip hop, estilo musical aparecido en la Isla en los 90s en ambientes urbanos. De México seleccionamos a los afromexicanos de la Costa Chica de Guerrero y Oaxaca. De su música tomamos sus dos grandes cuerpos estilísticos la música popular y la música tradicional.

The purpose of this article is to explain how the generation and dissemination of music with African roots in the last 30 years have contributed to the actions of the Afro-descendants of Cuba and Mexico for the claim of their citizenship rights. The inquiry can we offer in section 2 of this essay contains a comparative perspective of the subject. Our analysis of the citizenship of the Afro-descendants makes a cut of the subject from the angle of the studies of racism and ethnomusicology by the relationship between music and society.

In talking about music in Cuba we refer to hip hop, a musical style that arose on the Island in the 90s in urban environments. From Mexico we select Afro-Mexicans from the Costa Chica of Guerrero and Oaxaca. From his music we take his two great stylistic bodies: popular music and traditional music.
